Product Notices
1. This reagent has been pre-diluted for use at the recommended Volume per Test. We typically use 1 × 10^6 cells in a 100-μL experimental sample (a test).
2. Isotype control is not needed because the antibody has no Fc region.
3. For Research Use Only.
QC Testing:

Flow cytometric analysis of CD138 expression on human peripheral blood lymphocytes.
Peripheral blood mononuclear cell (PBMC) was stained with Anti-human CD138 Recombinant Antibody (GFP tag). Erythrocytes were lysed with Lysing Buffer. The two-parameter dot plot showing CD138 expression were derived from gated events with the forward and side light-scattering characteristics of viable lymphocytes.

Flow cytometric analysis of CD138 expression on human peripheral blood leucocyte populations
Human whole blood was stained with either Control Antibody or Anti-human CD138 Recombinant Antibody (GFP tag). Erythrocytes were lysed with Lysing Buffer. Bivariate pseudocolor density plots showing the correlated expression of CD138 [or control staining] versus side light-scatter (SSC-A) signals were derived from gated events with the forward and side light-scatter characteristics of intact leucocyte populations.
Description
The MI15 monoclonal antibody specifically binds to CD138 (Syndecan-1), an 85-92 kDa single chain transmembrane protein, stronglyexpressed on multiple-myeloma-derived cell lines and malignant plasma cell populations. CD138 binds to many extracellular matrix proteins through its heparan sulfate side-chains, like fibronectin, collagen types I, III, and V, tenascin, thrombospondin, and antithrombin III.
